• Just had my 1st transcontinental cellphone/ichat video call w/ the folks in CA 4 a Saturday t-day. Great to see everyone, over 2 quickly #
• Apple address book hell. 716 contacts on the mac, 2 on MobileMe, zero on iPhone. Damn. Oh & all my iPhone apps r “missing” #
• Opened the windows 2 let in the fresh air. Could smell the coming storm. Drizzle just started. Making b-fast, watching NASA & church on TV #
• Rains coming down harder, windows closed, Nasa shuttle redirected 2 CA. No double sonic boom 4 me this time. Damn weather. #
• No space shuttle landing, but thunder & tornado warnings. Afternoon nap time. #
• Sideways rain. Good thing I closed the bedroom window. #
• watching the landing of the Shuttle Endeavor on NASA.TV & spacevidcast.com. Of course the storms have moved off in FL now. damn. #

I’ll Have a Right-Upper-Cut w/ My Turkey Drumstick

The Thanksgiving holiday is a family thing. In years past, with one notable exception I’ve never suffered from a lack of having family to spend the afternoon/evening with. I’ve been fortunate that way. Having a “significant other” has been an entirely different story. Given that I’m now a several hundred miles from family and the significant other issue… well, I’m going no where near that one… Let me just say that I have been most fortunate to have several friends here in Florida who have invited me into their homes to share the holiday with. Granted, I would have never anticipated that the turkey, dressing, potatoes, and salad would be mixed with a healthy dose of Nintendo Wii Boxing, Cow Racing and Tennis. All I can say is “Life is Good.”

Things I Never Thought I Would Hear at Work

I love these people. Before heading out to our various Thanksgiving holiday destinations Beth (month 1) pulled out a composition book with the title “Things I Never Thought I Would Hear at Work.” Once we were seated around her like attentive pre-schoolers, she read to us a collection of quotations and our job was to guess which of us was the quotation’s “author.” One of the funniest, that didn’t make it into the video, was Michelle (Month 4) complaining that Dan (month was expecting her to kill rats (in a computer game) while eating lunch and that he expected her to be having fun doing it. Gotta love working with such gifted crazies. jbb
