I stopped watching network TV some time ago and haven’t been impressed with what hollywood has been pushing for a long time. They call them re-boots but, except for Battlestar Galactica, they’ve felt more like retreads, showing no respect for the source material. Or once they have a hit they ride that property until whatever was interesting about the story is buried in special effects or poor writing. Then I saw short clips like Trachtenberg’s short (live) action piece based on the “Portal” video game… why the hell can’t the big budget boys give Trachtenberg a chance to fill out this story. Who says that a video game property can’t be interesting and compelling? Remember District 9 several years ago started as a short… Enjoy.
