While catching up on my podcasts after moving into my new place in Orlando, I caught the June 20th episode of the 1UP Show and was absolutely blown away by the Korg DS-10 synthesizer for the Nintendo DS. This is a full on synthesizer with sound-patch and wave/sound shaping options and multiple input/play modes from a virtual keyboard to a “drawing” the sound mode. This is no toy keyboard. There’s a two person jam session with one of the 1-Up staff members at the end of the episode that is sick. I’ve been looking around YouTube for examples of the Korg DS-10 at work and the following is one of the better videos. While the artist in the video employs the use of four DS-Lites, don’t assume you need any more than one for a very full sound. I’m adding this one to my Amazon wish list (as soon as it’s available… current release date in Japan is 7/24/08, none set for US… Argh!). jbb
