For many of us in our 60s this next person did something life changing. Patricia Bath, a self-proclaimed nerd, is also the first African American woman doctor to receive a patent for a medical invention. Dr. Bath’s patent (no. 4,744,360), a method for removing cataract lenses, transformed eye surgery, using a Laser device making the procedure more accurate. Thank you Dr. Bath for not listening to the naysayers and making life for our aging eyes more clear.
