For the month of November I’m participating in a daily gratitude challenge posted by the journaling app that I use, Day One, and here’s today’s prompt:

What is a small act of kindness I recently received or witnessed?

Alas, I haven’t had very much interaction with others over the past few weeks, so I haven’t had as much of an opportunity to witness or receive small acts of kindness, especially compared to the “before times” in the classroom. I’m really racking my brain just to go over interactions. I guess one good thing is I cannot think of any interaction in ages that would be the opposite and ugly or confrontational. Interactions with the medical professionals “in my life” have all been positive, usually beginning with small talk and a smile. I thought I had a great job interview with the library folks. Unfortunately for me, someone must have had a better interview because on Tuesday I received an email saying that I was not selected for the position. It took me a couple days to get my legs back under me, but I’ve already applied for three more library opportunities, so, it’s all good.

Now, excuse me, I need to join my friend, Deb, for Thanksgiving dinner. It’s good to have friends to share the holidays with. That’s an act of kindness that I appreciate, that I haven’t always had in the past. Thanks Deb.
