  • You and Your Action Research Project by Jean McNiff, Pamela Lomax & Jack Whitehead, Hyde Publications, London & New York, 1996
    • It’s nice to have a virtual blue print of what and how to create an Action Research Project.
  • No More Teams! by Michael Schrage, Currency/Doubleday, New York 1989
    • As I’ve noted in my BP journal, I’ve tended do my work as a “solo.” So I laughed at the inner flap story: “During a job interview at a Fortune 1000 company, a hotshot project manager was asked if he was a “team player.” “Yes,” he replied, “team captain.” Being “team captain” isn’t my style either, but there’s a lot about group dynamics that I know I’m not utilizing in my education or my job site.
  • School Technology Leadership: Incidence and Impact Teaching, Learning, and Computing by Ronald Anderson, and Sara Dexter, 1998 National Survey, Report #6.
    • As I’m an still trying to figure out ERIC’s nomenclature, the linked titles go to a page I’ve created with the raw data downloaded from my ERIC search. I’m hoping to integrate this info with Endnotes, a Bibliographic program that I purchased. Maybe that should have been my BP Project (ack). This article looks at the relationship between school leadership and effective use of technology. They also developed a taxonomy of educational technology leadership decisions to gauge technology policy decisions. I wish I had read this article when I was running the Magnet program at my former school.
  • Integrating Computer Technology: Planning, Training, and Support by Richard Durost, 1994 NASSP Bulletin, Sept 1994.
    • This article is about a school that found that successful integration of computer technology requires coordinated planning, central office support, and responsible implementation. This study found that principals should consider how present learning activities might be enhanced by a coordinated computer plan.
  • Confronting Difficulties Associated with Pre-Service Teacher Preparation Technology Apprehension: A Case Study by Francisco Hidalgo, Mei Yan Lu, and Michael Miller, Annual Association of Teacher Education, Europe, August 2000.
    • This article discusses how changes in computer usage in the classroom has necessitated changes in teacher education and training prior to certification.
  • First Teach Their Teacher: Technology Support and Computer Use in Academic Subjects by Hester Fuller, Journal of Reseach on Computing in Education, Summer 2000.
    • A study that looks at the relationship between “computer coordinator work time” and student computer usage. In the business world this might be called TCO (total cost of operation), the usually ignored costs to maintain hardware and train users (teachers, staff and students).
  • The Technology Coordinator: Curriculum Leader or Electronic Janitor? by Rob Reilly, Multimedia Schools, May-June 1999.
