SANY0016 At the KLCS hosted “Day of Discovery,” Hall Davidson keynote this morning questioned how students today are different from precious generations. Number one was whether there differences. According to Davidson the Ravin scores have been climbing substantially while written comprehension have remained relatively flat. This means that they are rapid problem solvers who are use to continous visual and auditory stimulation. Alas, my guess is that 90% is directed to their weakest skill set. One train of thought is that we should be directing our instruction to improve or change this weakness. Davidson is saying that we are killing ourselves working against the curve, and should get them where they’re at and once we “have them” we can work with these undeveloped areas.
