There’s a line in the song, “I ain’t takin’ shit off no one, baby that was yesterday. I’m an all-American rebel, makin’ my big getaway.” That pretty much sums up my feelings today.

For some unimaginable reason, I’ve been very disciplined this summer break and have put in a solid effort to work on something either directly related to next school year’s assignments or getting my online work re-organized every day. What? Yeah, any day (including the weekends) when I haven’t gone to work in the robotics lab, I’ve spent getting my blogs… “reorganization.”

I think in the six months from January to June I only posted six times on my blog and haven’t posted to my podcast at all in two-years. Those are pitiful statistics. So, I’ve spent these three weeks moving my many thousands of posts to a new blog setup. I won’t bore you with the details, but I’m so off my photography game, the last couple events I went to “cover” my shots were shit, but all the more I need to set things up so that when I do have something worth sharing that I’m in a position to do it in a way that works for me and not be dependent on damn FB for any of you to see my work. Ugh. The podcast website is almost up and running (just need to record a new episode… doh!) and my “media projects” website is also just about ready for an unveiling.

Anyway, it’s all part of an ongoing re-assessment to figure out how to do whatever it is that I want to do after this next school year and how do I keep it going during the school year when I’m normally reduced to no non-classroom creative production. I have an odd mixture of undeniable exhaustion from the past school year (and the prior 26-years teaching…) and an unwillingness to not do something creative (photography, blogs, podcasting, videos, music…). I don’t have time for everything, and having the requisite energy is becoming more of an issue, but I need to continue to fight for the space and time to tell whatever story I’m supposed to be telling…

Anyway, here’s a screenshot of my podcast website and media projects website:
