There are three more weeks left in the third quarter. How do you feel about your progress? Have things improved since progress reports two weeks ago? What can you do this weekend to help improve things next week?

I’d like to think that it was a technology glitch, but for the first time since October I didn’t get a single student response to this week’s prompts. So, there’s that to think about over the three-day weekend. Were the prompts too deep, too difficult to answer, not something middle schoolers care about, any or all of the above? I did have four videos as part of the five prompts… I don’t know. I have the next three days to plot my course going forward for the next 13 weeks.

And as if I needed more on my plate, I was told today that an incident where I attempted (stupidly and unsuccessfully) to confiscate a student’s smartphone has resulted in an official inquiry involving law-enforcement. Yeah, that goes a long way to motivate me to vacate this endeavor sooner than later. I would like to continue until the end of May but that might not be possible and I have to be ready, emotionally, mentally and financially to move on. How’s that for burying the lead… So, yeah, I need to muster the energy and creativity to pave the path for my two robotics classes and mentorship class, keep the students motivated knowing that my days are numbered and I might not get the luxury of a smooth transition. What’s that saying, “No good deed goes unpunished”? Hope y’all are fairing better than moi.
