The CDC and the NFL agree that students should spend 60-minutes a day engaged in vigorous physical activity. Why do you think it’s important to get 60 minutes of exercise everyday? Do you feel like you get enough exercise? What’s your favorite form of exercise?
Just because it’s too cold or too hot is a lousy excuse for not getting exercise. Also getting up walking across the room 20 times isn’t the same as 60-minutes of vigorous exercise. On a “normal” day I’m on my feet and/or walking around my large classroom from 7:27 until 2:27, with a 20-minute “lunch” break around 10:30. I average over 5,000 steps a day. Alas, on the weekends I’m recovering from the week with minimal movement of around 1,500 steps per day. I know I should be walking 30-minutes minimum at the end of the day to help regulate my blood sugar and sleep cycle. So, especially considering that I have no idea what my “normal” daily schedule will be after May 23rd, I really need to begin some regular walking routine. Time to revisit under desk treadmills on Amazon. How’s your daily workout/walking routine going? 40 days to go.
