We’re down to the last two full weeks or last 11 days of the school year. What do you have to do to keep yourself focused during these last days?

How to stay focused as we near the end of the school year, that’s a tough one. Starting off, you might notice that I’m answering this one a day late, on Saturday, so keeping deadlines is going to be a huge challenge. Just keeping ones energy up for the next eleven days is going to be a priority. At the end of April, now the beginning of May, I’ve attended three huge multi-day events beginning with the Las Vegas Writers Conference, the VIVA TMS Vegas and Viva Las Vegas during the same week. Then I watched the whole Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy in IMAX with Debra and last night hung out with and watched the Rayford Brothers perform at a venue I’ve never been to before, the Golden Tiki. So, it feels like nothing is slowing down in the least and in fact I’m attempting to cram more into these last weeks (including getting a job!).

There’s a lot on my to-do list and I have a lot of important decisions to make, so yeah, I don’t have time for B.S. or drama or self-sabotaging my own stuff. Students are probably just wanting it to end, while not wanting to be with their friends every day. That’s got to be a bit bitter-sweet. Next week is the last week for students to turn in over-due stuff and then we have some big tests the following week and then we’re done. Oh yeah, I need to start taking home personal property that I have on campus which includes the tall chair I sit in, a room lamp and all of the posters on the walls…. I also am in the process of writing up a status/inventory report on our robotics equipment to pass on to my predecessor and admin. I’m trying to select my down-times/entertainment carefully. There’s just a lot to do between here and there that makes me anxious and definitely NOT in a hurry for the time to pass. Onward and forward!
