Yeah, over the past weekend I did a thing with my blog hosting company to straighten out a “mistake” that I made last year when setting up my accounts, but in the process the change knocked my main blog, joebustillos.com off line from Sunday until this morning, Wednesday. It was very weird not having my blog to post things to for four days. I don’t know how the rest of you folks exist without your own personal online outlet… Truthfully, as the days went by I really started wondering why I devote so much time, energy and money into something that it virtually invisible to the rest of the world.  Then I remember, oh yeah, I’m a writer and this has been my chosen platform to publish my work since the mid-1990s.

Sadly, most of y’all find these posts via Facebook, so you only “hear” from me when Facebook graciously pushes my post into your feed. Granted, I don’t do this blogging thing to become “popular on the Internet” (as if that were a thing), I’m a writer, it’s a skill I’ve chosen to exercise/am more than a little addicted to use. It is more fun when there’s an audience or when I get to interact with y’all regarding these posts, but it’s not entirely dependent on “growing an audience.” It’s just a bit less dysfunctional if all of this effort were connected to an actual audience and a bit less “whistling in the dark.” But no worry, I will continue to whistle for all I’m worth ‘cause I kind’a like whistling whether someone is listening and enjoying it or not.

Now, if you’ve gotten this far in this rambling observation, I’m going to guess that you are reading this on my blog (FB and the others usually only share the title and first part of the first paragraph…), it would be great if you would scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page. Right next to the green LEGO typewriter is a red PLEASE SUBSCRIBE button, and if you could add your email address to the space above the red button and press the red BUTTON, whenever I post a video or observation or podcast (JBB’s Final Thoughts), you’ll get an email with the post in your inbox. That would be awesome and again it would help move my fixation to writing and blogging a little further away from sad dysfunctional behavior toward beneficial healthy habits. And it doesn’t cost you anything at all. Thanks again and I hope that my websites continue on their happy ways with minimal to no outages.
