So, after yesterday afternoon’s technology distraction… I started prepping my old MacBook Pro to be traded in to Apple (to help pay for the new Mac Studio) and started setting up the new Mac Studio to take over main content creation duties.

A little over twenty-four hours later, I’ve backed up and wiped the content on the MacBook Pro and all I need to do is wipe down the screen and keyboard before packing it up to be shipped to Apple. I also reconfigured my iMac and one of my 24” monitors to be my secondary workstation on the high top table in the breakfast area and set up the new Mac Studio with my two 27” monitors in the main workstation at the sit/stand desk. The current monitor setup for both workstations is temporary. I’m waiting for a 40” LG monitor to show up, that’ll I’ll replace the horizontal 27” monitor being used by the Mac Studio and move that 27” monitor to the secondary workstation to replace the 24” monitor. I’m also waiting for a foldable treadmill that I’ll put under one of the workstations.

I was “inspired” to get the treadmill when I listened to the podcast about how just walking a couple times a week doesn’t do enough to counteract all the sitting we do at our computers. Going back to what I used to do with I was recovering from my CIDP back in 2013, turns out that the leading theory to counteract all of the sitting is to take a five minutes walk every 30 minutes. I actually signed up for the study that Columbia University is doing on the subject and hopefully the treadmill will show up before the study ends…  More pictures will be posted when the monitor and treadmill gets here… Distractions continue.
