I’ve been wanting to watch this movie forever… well, it felt like forever. I was really disappointed when I found out that the movie wasn’t going to have a theater release and was only streaming on Hulu (the one service that I don’t seem to have… ugh). And for whatever reason I decided to wait until the movie was available on disc (I know, how primitive of me)… So, I finally got a chance to catch this wonderfully imaginative telling of “The Most Dangerous Game” trope,1  what happens when the hunter becomes the hunted. Movie director, Dan Trachtenberg, continued his strong female protagonist tales2 with this Predator prequel, set 300 years before the other Predator adventures. We’ve seen the Predator fight in the jungles, then in Los Angeles (not the same jungle), then I lost track and lost interest in the series… This one was different. There’s the story of the Naru who wants to be a warrior, there’s the story of her people, on the verge of having their way of life disappear with the invasion of Europeans, then there’s this other threat… Enjoy.
