I was in the area… just curious if there would be a line (a la the iPhone lines from days gone by). The parking was crazy full, more likely a result of it being the week before the Super Bowl, which is going to bring in even more tourists… The Apple Store was full but no lines. Damn. and they made a few changes to accommodate folks coming in to buy their own Apple Vision Pro. I wonder if the other three Apple stores have a similar no lines but full status.

I saw that the stores in the big cities like San Francisco and NYC had lines yesterday, before the first Vision Pro were sold. This store in Las Vegas might have had lines before it opened yesterday. I know folks hate lines, but I had fun waiting in my Apple iPhone/iPad lines back in the day. Nostalgia is funny that way, I remember hanging out with fellow macHeads but forget how tired my feet got.

I was there at Macworld in San Francisco when the original iPhone was announced and causally visited a local Apple Store when the thing was released. I had no intention to buy an iPhone, wanting to wait for version two. So I watched the folks in line and the excitement when the doors opened and the first purchasers came out of the store with the new iPhones. I then went across the street and watched a movie. After the movie I came back to the Apple Store to see how the lines were doing. There were no lines, I could just walk into the store and ogle at the iPhones on the shelf.  I ended up going home with an iPhone. Ack. I’ve been enthusiastic about the platform ever since. 

I have an appointment on Tuesday to come back to this store to “test drive” one of the new Vision Pros. I do NOT have the resources to make a purchase (and just got another job application rejection yesterday, so doubly not in a position to buy this $3500 device).  Prayers and good thoughts that I stay strong with my “fiscal responsibility.”
