My thoughts: Turns out, one shouldn’t follow the examples in the Bible, just the “intention” which is never clearly spelled out enough to not lend itself to conjecture and endless speculation. So, it kind of disqualifies itself from being “authoritative” or speaking with one voice, when the examples from the “Godly patriarchs” are so all over the place. Oops.
