In this video, the woman finds a new friend and treats it with some respect and curiosity and they develop a connection. The robot has been through some things that it seems to have deep emotions about. The woman tries to help.  

I just finished the last season of Westworld. I know, more robots. But like all sci-fi, or any genre, it’s not about technology or A.I., but an exploration on what it means to be human. Given the horrors of our species, some might ask, why bother? That’s a good question. As a writer, educator and technologist I have some thoughts about robotics and A.I. and more importantly, our humanity and what these things say about our humanity. It’s obviously a big topic. For now, just enjoy the sentiments of this video and as we begin this new year, it’s not a bad idea to reflect on our own humanity and what that means to us in this moment. Happy New Years, y’all
