In the late 1980s I was ready to publish my own satirical publication. Ditching a class, probably one of my journalism classes at Cal State Fullerton, the idea of ADI came to me while enjoying a double-double and fries at the In-n-Out Burger on Placentia Ave., across the freeway from CSUF. The publication’s title “Air, Dirt and Ink” (ADI) came from the slogan, “We’re here to air all the dirty laundry, kick up some dirt and waste a lot of ink.” ADI lasted all of five issues and, obviously, by the last issue, in 1994, the “ink” part was about to get lost in the world of the Internet.
