Kind of like exercise, I’m going to revisit this subject as often as possible. When I lost my teaching job in Florida I spent hours walking almost every day. I remember the days walking outside more than on my treadmill, especially when I got caught in impossible Spring showers that can dump buckets of rain in minutes. Fun times. But those long walks probably helped get me through that challenging time in my life. Given Las Vegas’ pedestrian unfriendly streets and weather, I probably need to get more serious about the under-desk treadmill for myself. At the moment, when I’m not recovering from stomach issues, I get about 5,000 steps in every day walking around my classroom helping students with their robots. I’m not anticipating that being a thing after May. I need to start the habit now.
How are you doing with your physical fitness for mental health routine?
